To each their own, but too much wind, fast greens, and tricked up courses for my liking. Not my idea of "fun".

The wind really impacts the round as well. A round in high winds can be so frustrating on a certain course, but then you play it again in calm winds and its a much different experience. The courses in the JFF tour are randomly selected. These are all courses that I have not played yet, so there will be courses that make it in the tour that play really hard with no aids. I still enjoy playing them, but I tend to not focus on my score when playing this tour.

I find if I do make the time to put some rounds in on the JFF, if I focus on my score I get frustrated. If I just hack it around and enjoy the course design and play zen on the greens I have a lot more fun. I thought the last tour was on the very high end of difficulty and wind, JFF 6. Especially the first 3 courses. I'm hoping 7 will be a bit tamer. Are you sure you played RGT-JFF-7? I don't have really fast greens on Mohawk Valley Park (A), it could be windy though as it is an alpine design. I'm going to convert it to a Highlands theme eventually with more hardwoods and less evergreen. The course is built to be played in winds though. Hole #6 Tee needs to be move forward 25 yards and a bit larger green. Some other minor changes as well. If you started out on JFF 6 I'd give some more a try Just For Fun.

Played both of them. Didn't think I could play any worse than JFT 6 (+54). I was wrong.
Kahana +2 Mohawk +13 Isla Resaca +14 Chudleigh +7, Oakbush +12, Olde Scarpacci +21 - really like this course; controller issues ruined the round quickly. By the time I figured out what was wrong, the greens/putting had made sure it would be a disaster.

By the time I figured out what was wrong, the greens/putting had made sure it would be a disaster. The putting actually starts to get better over time, it takes a while though. Make sure you are adjusting the putting marker to the right distances which vary according to maximum putting length (green speed) as if you place it at the right distance and in the right place the game "smooths things out" and makes the input solution more forgiving. You'll learn how to recognize the odd short putts and how to sink them most of the time. It just takes a fair amount of time and practice for the no grid putting to come around. I am a little surprised Mohawk is playing so tough. I really enjoyed Kahana. I am going to have to play that perpetual tour one day. I enjoyed Mohawk with aids off. I've played it a few times with aids off and I thought it was surprisingly difficult in the winds especially from that direction. I'm sitting at Isla Resaca right now.

I really enjoyed Kahana as well. Shot -10. The course looked beautiful. I could read those greens very well. Hope we get to play it for one of the tournaments next season.
