I assume we shouldn't be playing with ghost balls since that could really help out on the greens, but I don't know if there is any way to regulate that besides the honor system.

Good point. I hardly ever play with ghost balls, but I am sure there are others that enjoy playing that way. It certainly can be an advantage. My opinion is we play with no ghosts and use honor system. Not sure how to regulate that.

I don't use ghost balls very often, certainly never in tournaments. I would assume that as this is a realistic tour, there should be a rule not to allow ghost balls? I understand that some people will have there default set to ghosts on, so you would have to disable them at the start of the tournament if this rule was applied.

Yeah, it is one that I personally do not use. I think we can advise against it, but yes, hard to regulate. I will send out a mass message - thanks, guys.

Just to contradict my original post, in real life you can get a read off of your playing partner, so...........

Just to contradict my original post, in real life you can get a read off of your playing partner, so........... True, it's not easy to regulate, but I guess it just determines play style. I see it as playing with a partner, but also can be used to "study" before the actual round. Plus if we see 6 or 10 balls (not sure what the limit is) on the green that doesn't seem too realistic.

Just to contradict my original post, in real life you can get a read off of your playing partner, so........... This is a tricky one. Getting reads from other players putts is part of the real game, and is taken advantage of on the tours all the time. But, ghosts play out of order.... I would all in all lean towards OK to play with ghosts.

I wouldn't have a problem playing with ghost as long as it were with one ghost and turn order enabled. Gives it a tourney feel with a "playing partner". I often do that on TGCTours. Usually use play with one of the guys close to my WGR, then change it by round based on standing after each round. If I'm in a hurry, won't use a ghost to cut down the round time.

Personally I feel and think that we play with NO ghosts, we did in the first tournament plus its u against the course and then at the end of the day best player wins through by not seeing other balls roll out on the green, etc etc, but that's my opinion and I will play the rules that are set by the governors, lol.

Yeah I'm fine either way. I played last week and this week without ghosts so it doesn't matter to me. Like your reason for wanting ghosts off.

could we consider leaving the ghost ON to help mitigate the issue people are having without the green grid on?
I would say having the ghost ball ON is less of a violation of realism than the green grid being on...and may actually contribute to a little more enjoyment playing rounds.

I am ok with or without ghost balls. I never use them, but if having them on makes the experience more enjoyable for people, I say go for it!

I personally dont like the ghost balls, but I think if you are gonna use them it should be limited to only using one.
