Welcome back again friends, this weeks guest is none other than World #1, Masters champion and Birthday boy Bradley Garcia. Good to have you here Brad.
Pleased to be here Dave, looking forward to it.
Tell us about your family.
I am currently single and have no children.
What song was your first dance to on your wedding day?
Never been married
Where abouts do you live or were raised?
I live in Birmingham and have done all my life
Do you have any pets?
No, but have had two wonderful cats - Seve and Molly. Currently there are two stray cats that live in my garden, which get fed twice a day + snacks.
What is the meaning behind your username?
Being a Birmingham City fan I wanted to incorporate blue as they are known as "Blues" into my username. The other reason is that if you are English you might get the joke that it sounds a bit like a posh person saying blew off(farted), as in "There's a terrible smell in here, have you blew off?" which would sound like blueorfe.
What bought you to RGT?
The challenge of playing realistic golf with realistic scores. Not having to shoot -16 every round to compete. Although that has been the case here lately, so hopefully that will change soon.
What is your favourite thing about RGT?
The challenge and mystery of playing every single shot that you are faced with.
The members are great, everyone seems to want to help each other out and there isn't any negativity like you can get on some of the other tours.
Although I rarely join in, the press tent is a completely surreal and funny place to spend a few minutes in.
Who is your biggest rival in RGT?
I guess that it has to be Ian(ijs1543) really. He is probably the best player on tour at the moment, so if I can beat him then I'll have a chance most weeks.
Not a rival, but I like to play social rounds with Chris(Chrashbird) on PS4, we seem to get on well and have similar views on trying to get the right balance of hard but fair competition.
What is your first and best memories of golf?
Probably watching Seve winning the 1979 Open Championship. His swashbuckling style inspired me to want to play the game.
Who is your favourite golfer of all time and current player?
Seve Ballesteros as my all time favourite. Currently it has to be Miguel Ángel Jiménez. I am drawn to golfers with huge personalities and character, these two have that in abundance.
Always been a big Monty fan too. I always pulled for Greg Norman when he was playing, that guy had the most bad luck of any golfer ever, he should be holding way more majors than he actually won.
I liked the way that Jack Nicklaus went about playing the game, absolutely ruthless with his playing style, but the perfect gentleman at all times. I don't even begrudge him beating Seve in '86.
Whats the best shot you've ever seen?
It has to be Seve's shot on 18 at Crans-sur-Sierre. For some reason no video exists of it though? Just from the stories you can tell how only he could have played that shot.
This shot by Tiger Woods at the Masters in 2010 was incredible.
What is your real life handicap?
Never had an official handicap. It would probably be around 8-12 I guess? I have shot -2 on two local courses. One an easy course with 4 drivable par 4's, the other a tricky par 69 course where I shot 67. I have also made a hole in one on that course, a near shank from 175 yards that somehow hit the pin and went in!
What set of clubs are in your bag?
Just a set of cheap Howson clubs now, with a nice Callaway x 13' 3 wood. I used to have a set of Ping Eye 2 clubs years ago when I played the game more regularly.
What is your favourite course to watch and/or play in real life?
Favourite to watch has to be Augusta. To play probably Cleve Cloud golf club in Cheltenham. That course is spectacular, it's like a links course on the top of a large hill with wonderful views.
What is your favourite course played in The Golf Club?
The Legacy at Cape Point is definitely up there, Harbour Pointe, Chambers Bay, Magnolia, TPC Carolina. I enjoy the tougher firmer courses. The new one by Biggins is a great course too.
What would you do to improve The Golf Club and/or RGT?
Make us play courses where it's hard to be under par after 3 rounds.
What are your other favourite sports?
Football and Cricket
Which teams do you support?
Birmingham City and Warwickshire. I also support FC Granada as well because they are my dad's team.
Whats your best sporting memory?
Got to be Blues winning the League Cup in 2011
Whats your worst sporting memory?
The USA's less than sporting victory at the 1999 Ryder Cup.
What was the 1st computer/console you had?
A Toshiba MSX
What was your first and best golf video game you ever played?
First was super golf on the Acorn Electron. The best by a long way is The Golf Club.
Whats the 1st car you ever owned?
Never owned a car
What was the first music album you ever bought ,favourite as well?
Can't remember the first? Haven't really got a favourite. I like Pink Floyd, The Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Neil Young, Donovan, Bob Dylan, Future Islands, Led Zeppelin. I also like rave music from the late 80's and early nineties. I love 60's music too. I have a wide taste in music, depending on my mood.
The best band live that I've seen live are the flaming lips by a mile, every show they do is a celebration. They give so much musically and visually.
What channels are preset on your car stereo?
Haven't got a car but it would be one that played 60's and classic rock.
Whats your favourite colour?
Blue
Whats your favourite film?
Again how can you have a favourite?
Some of my favourites are...The Sting, fear and loathing in Las Vegas, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Life of Brian, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Invasion of the Bodysnatchers(both versions, the newer one more) The Pink Panther Strikes Again, Three Days of the Condor, The Parallax View, Race with the Devil. There are so many more, these few just came to mind.
Whats your favourite TV show?
Again tough, but Minder and Fawlty Towers I can watch over and over.
Whats your favourite food?
My Mom's Roast Beef dinners are fantastic.
Whats your favourite drink?
I haven't drank alcohol for four years, I used to drink beer, so Hobgoblin or Speckled Hen were always favourites. Now I prefer a nice cool glass of lemonade.
Whats your favourite holiday/vacation destination?
Barcelona
Last of all, any other interesting information about yourself you'd like to share?
I can't think of anything just now? It is my Birthday today, that's kind of interesting to me I guess?
Thank you so much Brad ,a pleasure spending time with you. Thats it again for another edition and until next time keep it REAL.
